The redevelopment of Garden City in Raiwai has started.
The expected time frame of completion would be 15months, says Marco Polo Holdings Limited Director and Garden City owner Yee Wah Sing.
“We are in the demolition stage now as we started work on August 8, and we are trying our best to complete this complex in 15 months with a very challenging time frame,” he said.
He added the amount invested was a large sum and new services being provided to the customers was a main priority.
“We have a budget of about $10 million and building the complex has been one of my dreams” he said.
‘We will be joining the whole complex together with three elevators.
“We also have fiber opting cabling and the mix of tenancy will be rationalized.
“We will also have food courts, services like IT, Banking and food retail and other professional offices.”
Mr Yee, who is originally from Lomaivuna in Naitasiri also said they were expecting a change in the tenancy numbers once the complex was completed.
“The previous office had around 40 tenants and we are expecting an increase in the tenancy numbers.
“At the moment we have appointed various sub contractors but basically we are managing the project ourselves.
“We have professional consultants who are managing the tenancy and if someone is interested, they can contact us and we can direct them to these professional consultants.”
He is originally from Lomaivuna, Naitasiri having studied agriculture and building his agri business with ginger growing and exports.
He was a successful ginger farmer and named Garden City after the passion which he had for gardening and farming.
Mr Yee Pioneered such development in the increasingly busy Raiwai/ Laucala Bay area with Garden City.
