New Commercial Complexes in Martintar

Several property projects are now underway along the Queens Rd in Martintar, Nadi, coinciding with road works to expand the main road route to four lanes.

Rising next to Rosie Holiday’s is a double-storey commercial complex that will entail 10 office and outlet spaces, with frontage of the Queens Rd.

Though developers remained anonymous, the building had been exclusively listed with Vector Real Estate, which earlier confirmed strong interest for tenancy and leases.

At RB Jetpoint, the cinema-end of the property has a new multi-storey car-park facility being constructed.

Also underway along the main Martintar route is a new retail and residential development by the Fiji Public Service Association.

The trade union said it proposed a quality investment that would be reflective of their high aspirations and be an architecturally iconic, contemporary project.

“This development proposes  of retail, restaurants and residential apartments that will take advantage of the site location and complement the existing businesses in the area.”

A sub-basement car park is also proposed, with a further 25-car parking provided at the rear of the site, which cover Lots 4 and 5, DP 1770 of Martintar, across Ed’s Bar.

“The project is currently in Town Planning and the project is expected to commence construction in September 2017.”

FPSA general secretary, Rajeshwar Singh noted at a recent Western branch meeting that the 3-storey commercial complex would entail a $25 million investment.

Expressions of Interest have been advertised, calling for interested contractors to tender for the project.

In Suva, the union recently held a ground-breaking ceremony to commemorate the start of a property expansion at its Sports City complex, located opposite the University of the South Pacific’s main campus in Laucala Bay.

This $7 million project marks its fifth stage extension, with a new complex encompassing retail shops and restaurants that will add to the large recreational and retail inventory of the site, which include the McDonald’s and Cost-U-Less buildings.
