After close to 30-years, KKs Hardware has rebranded and is looking at a possible expansion beyond Western Viti Levu.
“We’ve had the same logo for the past 27-years and now we’re going into the new age, with all the information technology coming in, so we just thought it would be a better time for us to just change our focus and change our look,” noted director, Kamlesh Karan.
The massive wave of reconstruction works in the aftermath of Tropical Cyclone Winston has also increased business the Nadi-based company.
Mr Karan said there was a surge in demand for native hardwood such as damanu and kavula.
“Business has picked up after TC Winston. Native hardwood like kavula, damanu have been in most demand, which is from Nadi all the way to Ra. The outer islands have always been ususing damanu, but I think they just need building codes.
“We have taken on extra staff to cater for this demand. We have got about 15 extra boys, so it’s also been a good employment opportunity for them, even as casual labourers.”
