Fiji’s first destination travel app has been launched by Rosie Holidays. The app was made in the country using local technology design company, iTvTi and accessible via Apple’s Appstore and Android PlayStore.

“The Feejee Traveller App marks Fiji’s entry into the digital age of mobile channel marketing and we are very excited to be the first to make this a reality for Fiji,” said Rosie’s general manager, Eroni Puamau.

The app continually updates destination information and provides reviews and browses a range of tourist activities, car rental services and hotel transfers, with short video clips for viewers to watch, book and instantly pay with e-ticketing and receipt confirmation through a secure payment gateway.

“We are now living in a world where people are becoming more and more digitally connected, using these mediums to manage their daily lives.”

The app’s launch marks a defining transition away from traditional print media for travel and destination advise.

The app is available in English and Chinese Mandarin and uses GPS locators to provide updated local time and weather reports.

It already has over 5000 downloads.
