Susan's Dream Come True

My Island Home Real Estate is the fruition of a dream and a woman’s commitment to building a trustworthy reputation in the local real estate industry.

At the core of this brand is her family, her love for Fiji and all it has to offer.

Born and raised in Nawaido in Bua, Vanua Levu, Susan Pritchard stepped into the real estate industry to aid the sales of the dream project at the Momi Bay Development 12 years ago.

Since, she has made significant advancement in the sales and leasing of top end real estate, commercial and investment properties all over Fiji.

Her company has set up its office at her and her husband’s property at the corner of Queens Road and Zahoor Road in Martintar, Nadi.

“When I first came into real estate I was involved in the Momi development at Momi Bay with Bayleys Real Estate whom I was with for 10 years.

“Two years ago I was asked by the Fiji National Provident Fund to join their development section at Momi.

“Then I decided well, I have my licence in real estate and why not start my own business?

“So my husband (Michael Broadbridge) and I sat down to think of a name for the company.

“Fiji is our home and I am born and bred here.

“It’s a family business and my husband has been very supportive of me.

“This is the first time I have set up a business and it’s exciting and a lot of people have told me I should have done this a long time ago.

“In the real estate business, people are always looking for their ideal home and that’s their trait.

“We deal with any type of real estate – from commercial to residential of any type and price.

“I deal with those in the lower income bracket to those in the top end.”

Ms Pritchard also deals with investment properties on the lavish Denarau residential lots.

“There is a lot of competition out there amongst the real estate agents.”

Ms Pritchard said she based her company on being honest in all dealings, provide good service to clients and the need to go that extra mile.

“This is especially for foreign clients who don’t know how things work here and this includes changing the electricity and power bills and other small things.

“What I always do is keep in touch with them and when I travel abroad and in their country I call them up.

“Because they are looking for that home and lifestyle and when they come here they don’t want to run around for these small things.”

The company has started off well with a good response from clients as their huge data base has helped kick start the business.

They already have a few listings in the top end bracket of homes and hope to seal the deals soon.

One of her major moves would be looking for residential or accommodation lots for the ever growing market in Nadi.

She agreed that with the high prices for rent in Nadi, many workers have moved to Lautoka and in between to find cheaper

“A shared belief at My Island Home Real Estate is to recognise the value of good service.
