A RETIREMENT village is being proposed as the core facility of a site being developed by the Fiji National Provident Fund.

Measuring 155,944 sqm, the land is located off Rifle Range in Vatuwaqa, Suva, and comes under a special commercial lease and zoned special use (of a “Technology Park”) on Suva’s approved scheme plan.

FNPF notes that the land is of an irregular shaped block with 0.5 kilometres of water frontage, and as part of its master planning process, has called on expressions of interest (EOIs) to provide consultancy services on developing the retirement village and other financially viable business and facilities to support this centre.

“The subject area is located at the end of Rifle Range Rd, being part of the Vatuwaqa residential area and adjacent to the Fiji Golf Club,” FNPF noted.

“The main access to the vacant land is via Fletcher Rd which is also a main distributary road to Suva and Nausori.”

Surrounding areas include the FINTEL earth station and office, the Royal Fiji Military Force shooting range, Fiji Golf Club and residential precinct and schools. A 10-minute drive away,  Nabua is the closest commercial precinct to the site.
