Sotheby's Expands to Fiji
International luxury realtors, Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC is expanding to Fiji, with a new office due to open early this year.

This new development marks its first expansion to a Pacific island country, and comes a decade after adding New Zealand to its global network of offices.
Accordingly, it has signed an agreement with New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty to expand the firm’s operations here, it confirmed.
Sotheby’s International president and CEO, Philip White noted Fiji’s considerable global appeal and attraction for international buyers.
“The Sotheby’s International Realty brand is dedicated to providing luxury real estate services in the most sought after destinations in the world,” he said.
“We are proud to expand our brand presence into Fiji.”
New Zealand joined the Sotheby network in 2006 under the leadership of co-owners and managing directors, Julian Brown and Mark Harris, and now has 12 offices located throughout.
According to Harris, the time was right to make a strategic move and expand operations to Fiji due to increasing interest in the islands from international buyers and Fiji’s close proximity to New Zealand in the South Pacific.
“Fiji is an ideal holiday destination, boasting a secluded an exquisite lifestyle with over 300 islands, while also easily accessible with non-stop flights from major financial hubs around the world,” he said.
The addition of this reputable brand is expected to further stimulate the competitive local market for listings, with Bayleys, Harcourts and LJ Hooker being the only other notable overseas realty houses with Fiji offices.
Sotheby’s international network currently encompasses 850 independently owned and operated offices in 65 countries, with over 20,000 affiliated sales associates.
New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty listings will be marketed on the sothebysrealty.com global website and in addition to referral opportunities and widened exposure generated from this source, the firm’s brokers and clients are also expected to benefit from an association with the Sotheby’s auction house and worldwide Sotheby’s International Realty marketing programs.
