Fiji’s Central region covers nearly half of Viti Levu- the country’s largest island. Included are the inland provinces of Namosi and Naitasiri and the coastal Serua, Rewa (site of Suva’s CBD and Laucala Bay) and Tailevu, which covers Nausori Town and much of the Kings Highway towards Viti Levu’s North. Most of the Central region’s housing inventory is concentrated in the Fijian capital of Suva and the small townships of Navua, Lami and Nausori. There are many old homes in the area built in formative architectural styles, giving it credence as one of Suva’s oldest settlements. The Tamavua River runs through an adjoining valley, separating Delainavesi from Wailoku and above it, the panoramic suburb of Tamavua. With its hilly topography and winding streets, homes in the Delainavesi (and Tamavua) area are notable for boasting fantastic views. Houses in Navua boast great panoramas of its picturesque river and there is a considerable number of Freehold properties with houses listed on the market, particularly in Calia. These include stand-alone houses priced around $125,000 and more upmarket, resort-style homes that complement the pristine surroundings and rare mix of oceanfront, river and waterfalls.

Pacific Harbour is Fiji’s first residential resort development and is renowned for its beautiful spread of detached, stand-alone houses on the lake and river front, with many of these homes featuring swimming pools- considered a major personal luxury in the country. The area is regarded as a demarcation between the rainy Central region and sunnier, warmer climate of Fiji’s West, and is renowned as Fiji’s adventure capital due its large inventory of heart-pumping, outdoor activities. Houses here have a relative charm in what is regarded as the country’s most beautiful seaside hub- leafy, golfing greens, 5-star resorts, annual music and rugby festivals and a retail precinct wrapped around large lily ponds. Its villa-style houses typically list from around $550,000.  Waidroka Bay along the Queen’s Highway has also emerged in recent times as a pristine surfing and resort point, with listings from cabins to tropical home sites over a 900 acre spread.
